<p>Improvements in the care of ill and critically ill newborns over the past 15 years have resulted in the ability to save the lives of the majority of even the sickest and smallest babies. These ten top tips for preventing pressure ulcers focuses on the specialist area of premature babies (born before 37 weeks gestation) and neonates. Skin is not always ranked alongside organs such as the heart, liver and brain, but it is of extreme importance. Poorly managed skin and wounds in tiny babies immediately increases the risk of poor outcomes.</p>
