<p>This paper considers issues relevant to lymphoedema education from both the provider and participant perspectives. Current education in the UK is based on a model developed by the British Lymphology Society (BLS), which identifies four groups of patients with differing needs. Application and continued relevance of this approach is discussed in light of the introduction of the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). The need to develop both clinical competence and higher-level generic skills for specialist/advanced practice is also discussed.</p>
