Identification and management of infection in diabetic foot ulcers

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are rising in prevalence globally, and particularly in the Gulf region. Infection remains a common and serious complication in managing DFUs. A need was identified for local guidelines that considered cultural and religious practices in the Gulf region, as well as clinical issues. This consensus document aims to provide practitioners with guidance on identifying and managing DFUs, which can be directly applied to local practice.
