<p>This article focuses on the management of secondary lymphoedema caused by lymphatic filariasis (LF) in India. LF is a parasitic infection spread by mosquitoes. The infection, which is caused by thread-like parasitic worms (<em>Wuchereria bancrofti</em> or <em>Brugia malayi</em>) that damage the human lymphatic system, is usually contracted in childhood, often before the age of five years.</p>
