<p>This article is based on a satellite symposium held at the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) conference in London, UK, on May 14, 2015. The symposium outlined the importance of exudate control in wound healing, and emphasised that the management of exudate viscosity is still an underdeveloped area of clinical practice. The speakers highlighted the results of a global online survey on exudate viscosity and presented case studies relating to the management of wounds exhibiting highly viscous exudate using a new foam dressing.</p>
