The World Union of Wound Healing Societies congress 2016

26 February 2015

It is amazing how much work goes into organising a ‘wounds’ conference. The process reminds me a little bit of cooking Christmas dinner, which similarly involves hours of planning, researching, anticipating and the inevitable last minute dramas — the cranberries have sold out on Christmas Eve, the oven breaks, or one of the guests suddenly announces they have a particular food allergy. But in spite of everything, the event itself is invariably jolly and wonderful as the feast is enjoyed, yet the thing that always bothers me is that after all the hard work and stress, the meal itself seems to be over and done with in what seems like minutes.
n
