By the time you read this, the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) hybrid congress will finally have begun after what seems like an eternity. The pandemic may have stopped the world in its tracks but the wonders of modern medical science were plain to see in the vaccine rollout and there are high hopes that the unprecedented drive to control Covid-19 may hold the key to helping treat other diseases. “The lessons that have been learned – and the new norms that have solidified – will change medical science forever”, Mattha Busby wrote in February 2022 (Busby, 2022).
