Underlying biochemistry in non-healing wounds perpetuates chronicity

<p>Wounds may stall during healing for a number of reasons. Regardless of this reason, a shared biochemical profile can be found underlying all non-healing wounds. If healing is to occur, it is necessary to correct the problems in this pro-inflammatory biochemical environment that can perpetuate chronicity, in order to make the environment less hostile and allow the wound to progress to the next stage of healing. </p>
